So what did the report find? Key drivers of workforce mobility include fuel prices, high employment levels and rising business confidence. Steady employment growth across the U.S. has led to increased numbers of participants in workforce mobility programs. Organizations who participated in this year’s survey report a collective desire to increase visibility into spend associated with those programs and interest in understanding how their workforce mobility programs stack up to their peers.      

Here are a few key findings from the report:

  • Risk management practices in business vehicle programs leave organizations vulnerable. A high percentage of organizations do not verify that employees who drive for business purposes have proper insurance policies. 
  • Business vehicle programs are growing. Program administrators are supporting an increasing number of participants each year and are being asked to handle additional job responsibilities. 
  • The move to mobile apps continues and managing travel and expense receipts is a top priority. Yet a large number of organizations rely on a manual business mileage entry process.
  • Relocation policies favor existing employees. Relocation policies continue to provide more generous packages to executives and existing employees versus new hires.
