Runzheimer International's Thought Leadership Leads to Sponsorship of First Annual Employee Mobility Benchmarking Survey

March 16, 2005

Runzheimer International Ltd., a leader in providing employee mobility services, is the sponsor and administrator of the first annual Runzheimer Employee Mobility Benchmarking Survey. The survey will be conducted in collaboration with AIRINC (Associates for International Research, Inc.) and Dr. Jac Fitz-enz, the acknowledged "father" of human capital performance benchmarking and the founder of Saratoga Institute.

This is the first time a survey measuring employee mobility costs and best practices of Fortune 2000 companies has ever been conducted. The survey encompasses employee mobility in the broadest sense and includes the following segments of total employee mobility: business travel, including corporate aircraft, relocations, business vehicle programs/fleet, mobile/home offices, and international assignments.

In describing why the survey is needed, Dr. Jac Fitz-enz, said, "The costs and processes associated with managing a mobile workforce are dispersed throughout an organization, with many different professional disciplines, process owners, and outsource providers involved. This fragmentation makes it difficult for organizations to evaluate their overall investment in employee mobility and to compare results with other organizations."

Rex Runzheimer, President of Runzheimer International, said, "The survey is groundbreaking because organizations have never been able to pull together, measure and analyze all of the employee mobility segments that impact their operations. The survey will help CEOs, CFOs and VPs of Human Resources understand how their firm's total employee mobility expenses compare with others, how productive their organization is in managing employee mobility relative to others, and whether there is any correlation between total spend on employee mobility and financial benchmarks, such as revenue growth. Most organizations today do not have answers to these questions which impairs their ability to better manage employee mobility in a holistic way."

In another quote, Greg Harper, Executive Vice President of Runzheimer International, said, "Runzheimer International is very excited about the findings that this survey will offer. It's truly a fact-based reflection of how Fortune 2000 companies across the country spend their mobility money. It has relevance to all businesses and will offer the greatest benefit to those organizations that have large sales or service forces."

Based on survey findings, survey participants who demonstrate a highly effective mobile organization, will be recognized for employing a best practice (or best practices) in managing total employee mobility. The closing date of the survey will be June 17, 2005, following which Runzheimer International will analyze and interpret survey results and communicate them through various media outlets. Runzheimer International also plans to hold the first annual conference on the topic of Employee Mobility Benchmarking in the fall of 2005.
