Runzheimer International announced the launch of its Second Annual Total Employee Mobility Benchmarking Process. The outcome of this Process is the only tool available to measure the total employee mobility costs of organizations providing comprehensive information relating to key areas of employee mobility, including business vehicle, travel, mobile/home office, corporate aircraft, relocation, and international assignment programs.
"Through our efforts last year, we enabled many participant organizations to quantify and benchmark their Total Employee Mobility costs. In most cases, these costs are equal to or greater than the cost of providing health insurance for an organization," states Greg Harper, President of Runzheimer International. "Organizations that participate in this benchmarking exercise gain complete visibility and insight to the costs of managing a mobile workforce and are able to evaluate their productivity and investments in comparison with their peers. The exercise serves as a catalyst for rethinking the way mobility is managed today."
The process allows senior executives to understand − in most cases for the first time − the total cost of employee mobility within their organizations. More importantly, this provides valuable employee mobility benchmarking information and best practices to allow companies to reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve management controls.
Runzheimer's 2005 Total Employee Mobility Benchmarking Process revealed that companies spent nearly 13% of their operating income to support and manage their mobile workforce. First-time productivity and spend metrics, as well as the relationship of a company's total employee mobility investment to growth, also surfaced. Runzheimer has enjoyed broad participation from a cross-section of corporate America in its process − including companies such as ADP, Motorola, DuPont, Xerox, AT&T, and Thrivent Financial.
"Leading organizations found out long ago that external benchmarking sets them apart and on a path toward performance excellence and competitive advantage. There is no better resource than Runzheimer International for accurate and unbiased Total Employee Mobility program benchmarking," states Dr. Jac Fitz-enz, President, Human Capital Source and founder of the human resource benchmarking firm, Saratoga Institute.
Results from the 2006 process will be published this fall and presented at Runzheimer's 2nd Annual Benchmarking Forum which is scheduled for October 10th in Chicago. Runzheimer Best Practices Awards will also be presented at the Forum.
