At its annual Benchmarking Forum on Mobile Workforce Management held in Chicago, Illinois on October 9th, Runzheimer International released an overview of the latest findings from its market leading Total Employee Mobility benchmarking process. According to Runzheimer’s current benchmarking results, almost 50 percent of the workforce is mobile in some way. Additionally, organizations that take a proactive approach in their management of workforce mobility programs create competitive advantage.
During the Forum, Runzheimer recognized a select number of organizations for best practices in all key areas of employee mobility management, including business travel, business vehicles, corporate aircraft, virtual office, relocation and international assignments. Runzheimer Best Practices Awards were provided to the following organizations:

In order to be acknowledged, an organization must be a participant in Runzheimer’s Total Employee Mobility benchmarking process and must demonstrate that their program consistently:
- enhances talent management capabilities;
- achieves favorable outcomes relating to cost management and productivity;
- enables greater organizational agility; and
- strengthens employee satisfaction and well-being.
Integration of programs, processes, and approaches between each professional discipline of employee mobility is another qualifying characteristic that distinguishes the recipients of the Runzheimer Best Practices Awards. Approximately 90 leading organizations participated in Runzheimer’s 2007 Total Employee Mobility benchmarking process.
Other organizations also received recognition for innovative approaches in managing workforce mobility programs. IKON Office Solutions, Inc. was recognized for employee communication processes and program efficiencies relating to its business vehicle program. “Congratulations to these leading organizations. A common theme among them is measurement. Each company clearly understands that the process of external benchmarking is an essential element of becoming a top performing organization. Furthermore, these organizations recognize that their efforts in total workforce mobility management will help their organizations win the race for talent, and improve profitability and agility,” stated Greg Harper, President of Runzheimer International, during the Forum’s Awards Ceremony.
