Helps Companies Reduce Travel Spend and Simplifies Process
for Travelers
June 4, 2009
Runzheimer International, the industry leader in employee mobility programs, today introduced new travel management services to simplify the process and bring full visibility into costs and trends.
This full-service suite handles the complete travel process - from on-line booking through expense settlement. It includes direct integration with Egencia, a leading corporate travel management company, which will enable clients of Runzheimer and Egencia to seamlessly book travel, process expense reports and track
cost trends.
The suite improves the productivity of travelers, reducing multiple sign-ins and navigation of different systems. Finance and Procurement gain seamless analytics and intelligence to enhance cost and program management.
Travel is the single largest expense category in most organizations, with average annual spending equaling $10,740 per traveler according to Runzheimer International’s 2008 Total Employee Mobility® Benchmarking Report.
To manage this key expense, companies will be able to strengthen oversight of corporate travel costs and corporate travel policy areas:
- Leverage Egencia’s proactive policy management tools, such as automated pre-trip approval
- Identify excessive spending and assist in supplier negotiation with benchmark data
- Ensure alignment with budget and company policy through
comprehensive reports
- Decrease fraud risk and inefficiencies through improved internal controls
- Help procurement analyze and track “pure” costs through the enhanced insights of Egencia’s leading global reporting platform —track exact hotel costs and negotiated rates, break out lodging from ancillary expenses, maximize air savings and more
“To operate at optimal efficiency, corporations need full visibility into costs, trends and policy compliance. Our integrated travel management suite offers that transparency, as well as streamlining use for traveling employees,” said Greg Harper, president, Runzheimer International. "It also reinforces Runzheimer International's continued focus on mobile worker solutions that reduce costs, increase agility and improve employee relationships.”
The suite has been built under an open data platform, which integrates with Egencia’s open T&E management platform and includes plans to work with other travel, booking and credit applications. A configurable design adapts to individual company needs and program changes.
